This country variety store operated by the Amish is a store used by the local Amish community for purchasing general merchandise for themselves. Consider it a 7/11 for the Amish. But it is also open to and welcomes the general public. The prices on most items is very good. You will find a lot of interesting items here, both items made by the Amish as well as items made outside the Amish community that are used by the Amish. There is also a great variety of sweets, spices and other cooking ingredients.

Amish Country and Farmland Tours
There are a large number of Amish farms throughout the countryside
around La Plata. For a drive along the dirt back roads for a view of
Amish farm living with a stop at the Amish store and bakery, call the
hotel front desk to schedule a tour or for directions if you'd rather
drive through the area on your own. The Amish and their buggies are
often seen in town and along the roads. The Amish welcome you to
photograph their horse & buggies, farms and farm animals, but please do
not take facial photographs of the Amish themselves.
